The BC Coalition for Community Impact Investment was created by our cooperative to build solidarity and learning amongst community organizations committed to local social finance.  We now have members across the province in Indigenous, rural, and urban settings. We have made presentations to the BC Securities Commission, five Ministers of the BC Government, and to opposition party representatives in the legislature. Presentations were focussed on the need to create a more enabling policy environment for community impact investment.  We have used the long term benefit evidence of the Nova Scotia Community Economic Development Investment Fund Program as a model to propose for BC. The Program involves tax credits and enabling regulations for their 50+ community investment funds that now successfully manage over $50-million in local residents’ assets.

Check out the Coalition’s resources and join us in lobbying for a BC Community Impact Investment Tax Credit and Supportive Regulation.
